The Spirit of Excellence: The Den

Are you stuck in the rut of distrust?

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a pit,

There seem to be forces rising up against,

In moments like this, I have to overcome the urge to quit,

There’s a power I hold deep in the midst,

Not that I am perfect or better than the rest,

But God, my King to whom I submit,

I often feel like the world is a scary place,

My faith it tests,

But God Almighty has given me a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

Instead of shrivelling in fear: I will do like Daniel did: I will pray,

and Trust in HIM,

In me is found an excellent spirit TO STAY,

The lion may not touch me or maybe it would eat up my flesh?

But my spirit is forever it shall not be harmed,

I was not designed to blend in WITH THE REST,

To be mediocre, or just about cut it,

But to be distinguished, to be excellent,

Holy, Set apart,

The enigma I often faced is purpose,

How can God use me?

The real question is how could he NOT,

He’s the one that is excellent,

When his word has spoken,

He deposited his spirit with those who believe,

Those who accept,

If given a light in darkness wouldn’t you use it?

Or remain blind and hide it?

Have I become comfortable with the ordinary?

Hiding the light?

How can the spirit of God return void?

The truth is it can’t!

When the Lord has spoken a word for your life! Get ready for excellence, get ready for GOD!!

He’s working!

Isaiah 55:10-13 English Standard Version (ESV)

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven  and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout,  giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;  it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.12 For you shall go out in joy  and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;  instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
