As she squeezed the last few pieces of yucca into the bowl the corner grew dim in the thatched roof house. Ulga grasped for the flint and struck it, lighting a small flicker in the pit that quickly grew. Tolu unconcerned about the dim home perched forward as far as his tiny frame could, just to catch a glimpse of the display. The sky was effervescent with colours dancing at first slow but then with a steady quickening crescendo they took their westerly dance. He saw the beautiful lady in an orange gown, flared with shades of pinks, and purples. She tilted her head and extended her arms in response to the leading of the great knight. The man dressed in a coat awash in fiery reds and a dark perfectly seemed trouser grasped the lady with his strong arms as he twirled her across the sky and into the coming night as the sun slowly descended leaving just a reflection of past light. Oh, but the sun didn’t stop shining it just wasn’t in their view.
Ulga would not let little Tolu out of her sight when the light has whisked away from the sky.
They were only safe in the light but deceptive darkness is in disguise. Are we trying to convince ourselves it is actually light? Seek Truth and Shine with true light!
8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
